Accommodation and transport for the disabled

back to list

The Czech Republic is striving hard to improve transport and accommodation for the physically handicapped and the blind. Across the country the number of railway stations with disabled access is on the up, and every year Czech Railways introduces new trains with special carriages to accommodate wheelchair users. In many towns and cities such as Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Pilsen, České Budějovice and Ostrava the number of local buses, trams and trolleybuses with disabled access increases every year. Many operators also give handicapped passengers large discounts on tickets.

Information on trains and buses with special disabled access in Czech Republic can be found on the IDOS website which provides national travel information and timetables.

Czech hotel operators are also doing their best to accommodate disabled visitors and providing countless disabled access rooms across the Czech Republic at very low rates.

You will find more information on transport and accommodation for handicapped visitors to the Czech Republic on the ‘Bez bariér’ website listed below.

Further details on travel and accommodation for the disabled in the Czech Republic are provided by local tourist information centres which can be found in Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Pilsen, České Budějovice, Ostrava, Hradec Králové and many other towns and cities. A comprehensive list of these centres can be found here.
